Start with what you will wear every day, and most of what sells here is a pendant. With no chain at home, buy it as a set so the chain comes with it. Rings come in half sizes, so order the size you already wear. Nearly every piece here is .925 sterling, but a few gold pieces and watches sit among them, so read the metal on each listing.
Pendants and sets: sterling silver pendants, crosses and Jesus pieces, with or without a chain
Buy the set if you own no chain. It arrives on its chain, and four sets in five let you pick the length. On its own, a pendant needs a chain that can carry its weight. The middle pendant here stands just over 2 inches tall. It weighs about 26 grams, too much for a hair-thin chain. Faith pieces lead the case, and the crucifix on a Franco chain is the single piece bought most. The tiger's eye eagle claw came in late June, and nothing here sells faster. Which chain carries a pendant matches the chain to the weight.
Rings: sterling silver rings for men and women, the lion, skulls and Cuban links
Order the size you wear today. Resizing makes a ring final, so settle the number first. Half sizes come on almost every ring, and a typical one runs from 7 to 12. The Leonardo Da Vinci lion is the ring bought most, 218 in the year. The middle ring weighs about 15 grams, and a few let you choose an antique or matte finish. The men's ring size guide shows how to measure at home.
Chains and bracelets: sterling silver chains and bracelets, Franco, rope and Miami Cuban
A Franco or a Cuban link carries a pendant, and the sets here come on both. The 1.2 mm solid Franco is the chain bought most here. Chains under 5 mm wide make up most of what sells. Most chains let you pick 18 to 24 inches. Bracelets run 7 to 9.5 inches, and the rope is the one bought most. For a closer look at each link, see men's silver chains and silver bracelets.
Diamonds and gemstones: lab-grown and natural diamonds, sapphire and opal on silver
A diamond in silver is the same stone as one in gold, and a lab-grown diamond is chemically the same as a mined one. Among the pieces that say which, natural outnumbers lab-grown more than three to one. Only five diamond pieces leave it out; ask us about those before paying. The iced links name no stone, so ask what they carry. Black diamonds sit mostly on the rings and the faith pieces. For color, sapphire is the gemstone set most often, then opal.
Care: how to clean sterling silver jewelry and keep it from tarnishing
Wipe plain silver with a polishing cloth and store it closed and dry. That is what we tell buyers in the store. Sulfur in the air and on skin darkens silver, and the film wipes off. Wash the deep lines of a crucifix or a lion in warm soapy water with a soft brush, then dry it. Keep opal and tiger's eye out of the water. Give each piece its own bag and take it off before the pool. An oxidized or antique finish is dark on purpose, so skip any dip and keep the cloth on the raised parts.
Questions we get in the store
Is this jewelry real .925 sterling silver?
Yes. Nearly every piece here reads .925 silver on its listing. That is sterling, 92.5 percent silver with copper added for strength. A few gold pieces and steel watches sit on the page as well, so check the metal before you buy.
Does sterling silver jewelry tarnish?
Yes. All sterling darkens with time, and sweat and pool water speed it up. The dark film sits on the surface, and a polishing cloth lifts it in a minute. That is our general advice, as few listings here mention care.
Does a silver pendant come with a chain?
Yes, when you buy it as a set. Sets come on their chain, and most offer lengths from 18 to 24 inches. A pendant listed alone comes without one, unless its listing lets you pick a chain length, as a few do.
More questions we get
What size silver ring should I order?
Order the size you wear on that finger today. A typical ring here runs 7 to 12 in half sizes, and the men's ring size guide shows how to measure. A ring resized for you cannot be returned.
Are the diamonds in silver jewelry real?
Where a listing says diamond, it means a diamond, natural or lab-grown, and natural is the more common where the origin is named. Only five leave it out, so check those with us first.
Which silver piece sells the most here?
The crucifix Jesus cross on its Franco chain, 339 in the year. Nothing has sold faster than the tiger's eye eagle claw since it came in late June. The Da Vinci lion leads the rings.
Is this silver jewelry for men or for women?
Mostly men. Nearly every piece sits in our men's case, and about a quarter are in our women's case, the tiger's eye eagle claw among them. A few are for her alone, like the rose rings and the solitaire necklace.
Can I return silver jewelry?
Yes, unworn and unaltered, for fourteen calendar days from delivery. For the return label, name the silver piece to customer service at service@traxnyc.com or 212-391-3832. The five percent restocking fee and return shipping come off. Resized rings and personalized pieces are final. Ask us before buying a bar or bullet.
