Choose the stone by how often you will wear it, then the width of the row and the length
Choose the stone for the life the bracelet will lead. Sapphire and ruby take daily knocks best, so a red, pink or rainbow sapphire row can stay on. Opal, pearl and turquoise are softer, so take them off for the gym and the sink. Then read the points in the name for the width, and take 7 inches in 14K gold. Ask us whether a colored stone was grown or mined before you pay.
Stones: sapphire, ruby, emerald, opal and pearl bracelets
Start with sapphire if the bracelet will live on your wrist. Sapphire and ruby are one mineral, corundum, and only diamond is harder. More than half the pieces here are sapphire, in red, pink, blue and green, or in rainbow rows that run every color around the wrist. Rainbow and mixed colors took the largest share of the year's sales among the stones.
Red comes two ways, ruby or red sapphire, and the listing tells you which. Emerald is the softer green and can nick on a sharp edge, so take it off at night. Opal, pearl and turquoise want the most care. More opal sits at opal bracelets.
Width: 10 pointer gemstone tennis bracelet, thin or bold
Stay under 4 mm for a row you never take off, as most tennis rows here are. A point is a hundredth of a carat, and the points in a title give the weight of each stone. Under 3 mm the row reads as a thin line of color, where the smallest rainbow rows sit. Ten points sits in the middle, about 3.5 mm. From 20 points up, the row turns bold. A bangle can run thinner still, down to 1.5 mm.
Length: 7 inch bracelet, bangle size, adjustable bead bracelet
Take 7 inches unless your wrist is small or large. That is the length these bracelets list most, and 7.5 comes next. Only three are shorter than 7. Nearly every piece comes in one length, so settle the inches with us before you order.
A bangle has no wrist length. Four list 2.5 inches across. Of the eight bangles here, two stretch and two open, so ask which kind yours is. The turquoise bead strand adjusts, and the pearl strand slides on its cord.
Gold and diamonds: 14k gold gemstone bracelet, lab-grown or natural diamonds
Take 14K. Nearly all are 14K gold, and two are 10K. Most come in yellow, white or rose, so pick the gold of the watch or ring you wear daily. Yellow warms a ruby, and white keeps a blue sapphire cool.
Many carry diamonds beside the color, and nearly every one's origin line says lab-grown or natural. The colored stones are quieter. Most listings never say where a sapphire or ruby came from, so ask us before you buy.
Birthstones and gifts: birthstone bracelet for her, returns
Six birth months have a bracelet here, by the modern list. May is emerald, June pearl, July ruby, September sapphire, October opal and December turquoise. The birthstone bracelets gather them.
Buying a gift, tell the live chat what she already wears, or call or text 212-872-9692 from 10 AM ET. A bracelet from the case can come back to us within fourteen days of its delivery, unworn and unaltered, after we approve the return and issue our return label. Restocking of five percent and the label's cost are taken off the refund. Custom pieces and a length made for you are final.
