Trade your gold in at our counter
Bring in gold you already own, we weigh and test it in front of you, and you walk out with TraxNYC credit toward the piece you actually want.
We trade, we don't cash out. Your gold's value comes back to you as store credit, never as a cash payout.
Example of how a trade-in is written up. Nothing is final until you see the number and say yes.
Credit toward your next piece
Whatever your gold is worth, that value goes on your account and comes straight off what you're buying from us. Trade a chain you're done with toward the one you've been watching. Trade an old ring toward a custom build.
It's the same reason we sell 24K gold by the gram: gold holds its value here, and we'd rather keep it moving between you and the counter than send you down the block.

Two ways to trade
Gold you own
Chains, rings, bracelets, single earrings, pieces that are broken or out of style — it doesn't have to be ours. We test the karat and weigh it in grams while you watch, then quote you a number. Bring it in and find out what it's worth.
Anything you bought from us
Every TraxNYC piece can come back to the counter and go toward your next one, whenever you're ready. No window to beat, no penalty for having worn it. Trade up any time.
How a trade-in goes
Reach out first
Call us or start a live chat and tell us what you're bringing. We'll tell you what to expect before you make the trip.
Come to the counter
Bring the gold to our booth on 47th Street during showroom hours. Trade-ins are in person only.
We test and weigh it
Karat tested, grams on the scale, right in front of you. Then we give you the number your gold is worth.
Put it toward a piece
Say yes and the value becomes store credit, applied to whatever you're picking up or having made.
In person, at the counter
Gold gets tested and weighed by hand, and you should be standing there when it happens. That's why we don't take mailed-in gold — no packages, no shipping labels, no exceptions.
We're in the Diamond District, one block off Fifth Avenue. Call ahead so a jeweler is expecting you.

Questions people ask at the counter
Can I get cash for my gold instead?
No. We trade gold, we don't buy it out. The value we quote you is issued as TraxNYC store credit toward a purchase. If you're looking for a cash payout, we're not the right stop.
Can I ship my gold to you?
No. We don't accept shipments of gold, and we can't quote or hold anything that arrives by mail. Every trade-in happens face to face at our booth on 47th Street.
Does the gold have to be something I bought from TraxNYC?
No. We take gold from anywhere. And separately, anything you did buy from us can be traded back in at any time, toward your next piece.
How do you decide what my gold is worth?
Karat and weight. We test the karat and weigh the piece in grams at the counter, and quote you from there. You see the whole process and you hear the number before anything is final.
What should I bring?
The gold itself, and a valid photo ID. If a piece came from us, bring the paperwork if you still have it — it makes the write-up faster.
Bring the gold. Leave with the piece.
Start with a call or a live chat, then come see us at 64 West 47th Street.
Trade-in values are based on karat and weight and are quoted in person at our counter. Value is issued as TraxNYC store credit toward a purchase; we do not pay cash for gold and we do not accept mailed-in items.
