What to settle before a custom gold chain is cast, and what to ask the desk
Decide first whether you want a chain off the wall or one built to your own spec. A commission starts as a sketch, then a CAD you approve before any gold is cast, so settle your spec at that step. Take 14K gold for a chain worn every day. Get the date and the deposit from the desk before you pay, because payments toward custom work are not refundable.

How long does a custom chain take to make?
Plan on three to six weeks once the CAD drawing is approved, since nothing is cast before that. If you need it by a date, text the desk before you order.
Can you make a custom chain and pendant together?
Yes, the same steps run for pendants, and three pieces here already come as sets. Bring the size of the pendant and the chain length you want together, and ask for one quote for the pair at custom pendants.
Can I order a chain in my own length, width and gold color?
On a commission, yes. Your spec sets all three, and the CAD shows it before the gold is cast. Most listings offer yellow, rose or white gold, and the desk shortens or extends a listed chain.

Can you put a diamond lock or a hidden lock on my chain?
Ask the desk, which swaps locks on chains and tells you whether yours can take one and the charge. A cable link with a hidden lock and a rope with a diamond logo lock show the idea. Call 212-872-9692.
Are the diamonds on a custom diamond chain natural or lab-grown?
Both appear here, and only six listings say which. The rest print no origin, so ask the desk before you rely on either. On a commission, tell the desk whether you want natural or lab-grown stones set before the CAD is drawn.
How much does a custom gold chain cost, and is there a deposit?

Do you make custom chains in silver, or only gold?

Can I return a custom chain once it is made?
No. Custom payments are final under the refund policy. A listed chain, unworn and unaltered, can return within fourteen days of delivery after the desk approves it, on our insured label, less five percent restocking and the label. Ask about canceling before you order.
