The kinds: AK-47, revolver, pistol, Uzi, bullet and baby angel pendants

Most pieces here are pendants in the shape of a firearm or a bullet. By count there are eight AK-47s, eight bullets, seven revolvers, six Uzis, five pistols, four Desert Eagles, four baby angels each holding an AK, a Tommy gun and two plain gun pendants. Three more are a grenade pendant, a skull figure holding an AK, and a ring shaped like a revolver. The page also holds four sets of .999 silver bullets, which are bullion, and two life-size AK-47s made for display.

The baby angel leads what people bought: the four angels were 286 of the 564 pieces sold in the year, about half, and nearly all of them were the silver angel, 176 on its chain and 106 alone. The AK-47s came next with 152, most of them the silver pendant, then the bullets with 42, the Desert Eagles with 33 and the pistols with 24. The revolvers sold 8 and the Uzis 1.

The two life-size AK-47s are not jewelry. One is 14K yellow gold, listed at 7,000 grams, and one is brass at 3,000 grams; both listings say they are not real weapons, and the brass one adds that it does not fire.

Silver or gold: a .925 silver or 14K gold gun pendant

Twenty pieces are silver, and they were 545 of the 564 sold: 16 pieces of .925 sterling jewelry and the four bullet sets, whose titles say .999 silver. Sterling is 92.5 percent silver with copper in most of the rest, and standard sterling carries no nickel. It darkens over time, and a polishing cloth lifts the film; the steps are in does sterling silver tarnish.

Thirty-two pieces are 14K gold, 58.3 percent gold, and 29 of them let you pick yellow, white or rose. Two bullets are two-tone yellow and rose, and the gold life-size AK-47 is yellow. The Tommy gun lists platinum while its menu offers three golds, so ask the desk what it is made in. Gold pieces bound for US addresses include our appraisal, which lists their grams; abroad it comes as a digital file, and silver is sent without one.

Want a silver design in gold? The angel is also listed in 14K, small or large. The silver AK-47's listing says custom gold versions can be made on request, and the silver angel's says it can be dipped in yellow gold. Ask the desk first, since anything made or dipped to your order is final sale.

Size and grams: how big a gun pendant is, and the chain it needs

Many pendants here are small. Nine, among them the small Uzi and the newer pistols and revolvers, run 0.9 to 1.15 inches long and about 1.2 across, at 4 to 10 grams. The silver pendants without a chain weigh 4.5 to 17 grams, except the large silver Desert Eagle at 49.2. Of the 30 gold pendants without a chain, 24 weigh 4 to 26.6 grams, and six weigh 50.4 to 98.5: three large Uzis about 3.75 inches long, the large Desert Eagle, the skull figure and a revolver whose barrel turns. The revolver ring comes in sizes 7 to 12 with half sizes, in sterling set with 2.31 carats of natural black diamonds, at 27.1 grams.

Six come as sets on their chain, and sets were 206 of the 564 sold: the angel on a 2 mm chain of 22 or 24 inches, one AK-47 on a moon cut chain and one on a slashed box link, both 18 to 24 inches, the floral pistol on an Oreo rope of 22 or 24 inches in a black or a regular finish, a 14K bullet on a 2 mm chain of 18 to 24 inches in three golds, and a silver bullet on a 22-inch, 3 mm Franco. The rest come alone. By our rule the link widens with the pendant: a solid 2.5 to 4 mm under about 10 grams, 4 to 6 mm from 10 to 30, and 6 mm or wider past 30. The bands are in which chain for a pendant, and the links in men's silver chains.

Diamonds and bullets: diamond gun pendants, lab-grown or natural, and the silver bullet sets

Twenty pieces carry diamonds. Fifteen list natural diamonds, from 0.15 carats on a 14K AK-47 to 3.25 carats of black diamonds on a 14K bullet. Four list lab-grown: three bullets, 1 carat each, and a 14K Uzi with 10.21 carats. The Tommy gun names diamonds but no weight or origin, so ask the desk. Grown or mined, each is diamond; lab-grown or natural diamonds explains the difference.

The three lab-grown bullets open: their listings say each unscrews to a hidden space inside, with a diamond at the base. Each is 2.2 inches long and half an inch wide, in sterling at 17 grams, in two-tone 14K at 20.65, or as a silver set on its Franco at 42.15. The other five bullets are 14K, about 1.5 inches long and 7.3 to 17.2 grams on their own.

The four bullet sets are bullion, not jewelry: .999 silver by their titles, in sets of 20, 10, 4 or 2 pieces titled 1, 2, 5 and 10 oz. Bullion returns under its own terms in our refund policy, set out in the answers below.

No. Every piece here is jewelry, bullion or a display piece: pendants shaped like firearms, bullets or a grenade, a skull figure, a revolver-shaped ring and sets of .999 silver bullets. The two life-size AK-47s are for display, and their listings say they are not real weapons.

Is a gun pendant real gold or real silver?

Real metal, named on each listing: 20 pieces are silver, 16 of them .925 sterling jewelry and four .999 silver bullet sets, and 32 are 14K gold, 58.3 percent gold. The Tommy gun lists platinum yet offers three golds, so ask the desk before you order it.
