How to Buy a Gold Chain: The Two-Minute Film
Karat, solid or light links, length and the links people buy most: the store's two-minute film on buying a gold chain.
A two-minute film from the TraxNYC store on 47th Street about buying a gold chain. Its host, AI Trax, is an AI: Trax built him to explain what buyers ask before they buy, and he says so in the film. Here is what it covers.
What the film covers
- Karat. Karat is how much gold is in the metal. 10K wears hardest for the money, 14K is the everyday pick for color and durability, and 18K is the richest.
- Solid or light links. The same look can carry very different gold. A light-link chain uses far less gold than a solid one of the same width, and some links, like the Franco, can look even fuller as light links.
- The price. Our chains are not sold by the gram, but the heavier the chain, the better the price per gram. For a package deal or a better price, ask a personal jeweler on live chat or by phone.
- Length. 18 to 20 inches sits at the collarbone and carries a pendant. 22 to 24 inches drops lower and layers. 26 inches and up is for the big links. Any chain can be lengthened or shortened.
- The ones people buy most. Rope, because it sparkles and hides wear. Miami Cuban, the statement. Curb, flat and classic. Franco, square and strong.
- Gold keeps its metal. A gold chain holds the value of its gold, and you can trade it in with us.
