Description

Diamond flower earrings, 8.5 mm across, with 1.22 carats of lab-grown round diamonds for the pair in 14K gold. A point is a hundredth of a carat, so the 10 PT in the name means stones of 10 points, a tenth of a carat each, gathered into a flower on each earring.

The details. The diamonds are lab-grown rounds, F in color, two steps from the top of the scale, and VS in clarity, with very small inclusions seen under magnification. They are prong set in 14K gold, and the pair weighs 2.10 grams in all.

Size and fit. One size, in yellow, rose or white gold, so the gold can match the other pieces you wear. At this size the flowers are large enough to be seen at conversation distance and small enough to wear most days.

Care. Use warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working into the gaps between the stones, where soap and skin oil collect and cloud a cluster first. Lab-grown and natural diamonds take the same care. Keep them from chlorine, perfume and hairspray, and store the pair apart from other jewelry so the diamonds do not scratch it.
