Most ropes here are 14K gold rope chains; the other gold ropes are 10K, plus one 18K and one 21K, and a few are sterling silver. The gold ropes run 2 to 11 mm wide and 16 to 30 inches long, plain or diamond cut. Most have solid links; light links run 2 to 5 mm.

Are these rope chains real gold?
Yes, every rope is solid gold except the silver ones in .925 sterling, and each title names its metal. A name that says Hollow describes the links: the gold is solid, never a coating. No listing here says plated.
Solid links or light links on a rope chain: which should I buy?
Take solid links to carry a pendant or to wear for years, and light links for a light rope with less gold in it. At one width and length, solid links list two to four times the gold. Light links can dent if crushed.
How thick should a men's rope chain be?
Take 2 to 3 mm for every day or a light pendant, go wider to wear it alone, and past 5 mm the rope becomes the piece.

10K or 14K gold rope chain?
Take 14K for the deeper yellow and 10K for a harder, paler rope. 14K brought in about two thirds of the sales here. The Metal Purity filter shows one karat alone.
How heavy is a gold rope chain?
It goes by the width and the build. A 2 mm rope with light links lists 2.5 to 3 grams at 20 inches, and a 14K rope with solid links at 5 mm lists 43 grams at 24 inches. Most listings print one weight beside several lengths, so ask which length it covers.
Is my rope in stock, and which clasp does it close with?
Every rope shows as buyable, but some are made to order, so ask the desk first if you need it by a date. A rope in stock usually ships within two to five business days, with tracking. A jeweler tells you its clasp before you order.
Can I return a rope chain, or have it shortened?
Yes, unless it is marked Final Sale, and a jeweler quotes any change of length.
