A heavy rope in 14K solid yellow gold: 4 mm wide, diamond cut, with a listed weight of 27.00 grams. The diamond cut is a finish on the gold, small flat facets cut across the twisted links, so the chain throws light as it moves. At 4 mm the spiral is plain to see, and it is a chain you feel on the neck.
The details. 14K gold is 58.3 percent pure gold, and solid links have no hollow core, which is where the weight comes from. The 27.00 grams is the weight at one of the offered lengths, not every one: a longer length weighs more and a shorter one less.
Size and fit. It is offered at 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 inches. At 18 it sits on the collarbone, 20 and 22 drop just below it, 24 hangs to mid-chest, and 26 a little lower. It comes in yellow gold.
Care. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush worked into the twist keep the facets bright; keep it away from chlorine and harsh cleaners. Store it by itself, laid flat, so nothing scratches the facets and the twist does not kink.
