How to choose a women's Rolex Datejust or Lady-Datejust
Pick 26, 31 or 36 mm, then the gold and the dial, and read the reference before you buy
Choose the size first, and check it against the reference. The 36 is the full Datejust, the size bought most here, and men wear the same watch. The 31 is the mid-size, and the Lady-Datejust is the small one, as much a bracelet as a watch. Take two-tone on the Jubilee unless you only wear white metal. The sale is final on every watch, so put each question to the desk before paying.

What size Datejust should a woman wear?
The 36 if your wrist carries it, since it is the full-size Datejust. Take the 31 when the 36 covers your wrist from edge to edge, and the 26 Lady-Datejust when you want the watch to read as jewelry.
What is the difference between a Lady-Datejust and a Datejust 31?
Five millimeters. A Lady-Datejust measures 26, and the Datejust 31 wears as a full watch on a slim wrist. Rolex has since grown the Lady-Datejust to 28 mm, so ask the desk for the current one.
Does a pre-owned women's Datejust come with box and papers?
Some come with papers, but on every watch for sale the box is an extra you can add. Where papers survive, an older 26 has the paper certificate and a recent 31 the Rolex warranty card. Most of our 36s are the watch alone.

How do I read the reference on a ladies' Datejust?
Read it from both ends. Its opening digits give the size, and its last digit the metal, so a 69173 is a 26 in steel and yellow gold and a 278274 is a current 31 in steel with a white gold bezel.
Is a Datejust 26mm the same watch as a Lady-Datejust?
Yes. Lady-Datejust is the name Rolex gave its 26 mm Datejust, and many of our titles simply say Datejust 26mm. The reference confirms it, since a 69173 or a 179171 is a 26 whatever the title calls it.
Two-tone, steel or solid gold for a women's Datejust?
Two-tone, steel with yellow gold on a Jubilee, goes with the most wardrobes, and it outsold the other metals here. Take steel if you wear white gold or silver. Take solid 18K yellow gold for the President bracelet and gold end to end.
Are the diamonds on a women's Datejust factory-set?
Not always, so ask before you buy. Rolex made certain dials with diamonds, and a jeweler can add stones later, which resell as custom work. A few of our listings say aftermarket, and the desk answers for the rest.
