Pick the stone before the shape. For a pendant you wear every day, take sapphire or ruby, the hardest gems after diamond. Opal and tiger's eye are softer and want gentler care, yet the silver eagle claws that hold them were over half of the pieces bought here in the year. Most listings name the stone but not where it came from, so ask natural, lab-grown or treated before you pay.

How big is a gemstone pendant?
About an inch across is typical, and a colored cross stands just under an inch and a half tall. Animals run wider, near 30 mm. Nearly every listing gives width and length, so measure against your collarbone before you order.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
If a listing lets you add it to the cart, it can be ordered today, and nearly every piece here can. A few are made after you order and say so. For the ship date on one piece, ask the live chat.
Does a gemstone pendant come with a chain?
A set does, and so does any listing whose own words say a chain comes with it. About one in five listings here is a pendant set, and most sets offer the chain at 18 to 24 inches. The rest are the pendant alone.

Is the stone natural, lab-grown or treated?
Ask before you pay, because most listings name the stone without saying where it came from. One title here says synthetic, and two listings say natural opal. Diamonds are different, and nearly every piece with diamonds names them natural or lab-grown.
Which gemstone is best for everyday wear?
Sapphire and ruby, which rate 9 for hardness, one step under diamond. Topaz, emerald, amethyst and tiger's eye sit in the middle. Opal and pearl scratch easily, so leave them home for workouts and keep them clear of heat and water.
Will white gold look like silver?
At a glance, yes. Most white gold gets a rhodium coat for its bright white look, and a jeweler can redo that coat once it wears thin. Silver is a softer gray-white and darkens over time until a polishing cloth brings it back.
Which chain will fit the pendant?
One the bail can clear. The bail is the loop at the top, and it must open wider than your chain and its clasp. A small cross or heart wants a fine chain. Send your chain's width on the live chat and we check.
