Script or block letters, plain gold or diamonds, the size your name needs, the chain, and how the order runs
The pendants on this page are past custom work, and yours is built around your own name. Send the desk the item number you like and the name, and a deposit pays for a 3D design you approve before anything is made. Most here are 14K gold set with diamonds, and the middle one weighs 34.1 grams.
Ordering: how a custom name pendant is quoted and made
Start from a listing here, or from an idea of your own. Send the desk its item number, the name, and photos of any style you like; reference pictures help. The desk handles each project personally and quotes it. A deposit pays for the 3D design, and you see renderings of your pendant before anything is made, with up to three rounds of changes. Then you pay the balance, and the pendant is made.
Ask the desk how long yours will take before you pay the deposit, and if you need it by a date, say so in your first message. Start on the live chat; a phone call or a text to 212-872-9692 also works, and a person answers from 10 AM ET.
A pendant made with your name is final under the refund policy, and so is every payment toward it, the deposit included. Check the spelling and every letter on the renderings before you approve them.
Lettering: script or block letters, iced out or plain gold
Script letters join into one flowing line, the way handwriting does. Block letters stand upright and apart, each one its own shape. No title here names the lettering, and only three descriptions mention a script, so study each photo and send the desk a picture of the style you want.
The titles name other builds as well: four double layer pieces, four logos, two with a crown, two that glow in the dark, and one each in 3D, graffiti bubble letters, baguettes, a spade and a money bag. Iced out means stones cover the letters. 64 listings name a prong setting, where small metal claws hold each stone.
Size: how big a name pendant runs for a short or long name
A longer name needs a wider plate, and width brings gold with it. 69 listings print a size in inches, from 0.75 inch to 4.75 inches wide. 45 run wider than tall, so the name reads across the chest, and 19 are taller than wide. The middle one weighs 20 grams under 2 inches wide, 30.2 grams from 2 to 3 inches, and 51.7 grams from 3 inches up.
Across all 71, the grams run from 5 to 101. Letter height and stone cover add weight as surely as length does: a plain gold plate here is 3 inches across but only 1 inch tall, and it weighs 25 grams. Send the desk the full name and the width you have in mind, and the 3D design shows the size before it is made.
Gold and diamonds: 14K or 10K gold name pendant, natural or lab-grown
Of the 71, 48 are 14K, 22 are 10K and one is 18K. The 14K pieces run heavier, about 36 grams in the middle against about 27 for the 10K ones. On 64 listings a menu offers yellow, white or rose gold; seven come only as pictured.
Diamonds sit on 67 pieces, and four are plain gold. Every diamond piece prints its carat weight, from 0.17 to 18.45 ct, and an origin: 57 read natural and 10 lab-grown, and both are real diamonds. All five pieces sold in the year carried diamonds, three of them in 10K. More in lab-grown or natural diamonds and 10K, 14K or 18K gold.
The chain: what chain to wear with a name pendant
On 70 of the 71 listings the pendant comes alone, with no chain on the listing; the one set offers a chain of 18 to 24 inches. So plan the chain as its own purchase. 21 descriptions suggest a rope or a franco chain, and a heavy plate needs a solid chain thick enough to carry it. The pendant chain guide matches the chain to the grams. Shop men's rope chains or men's franco chains, or have one made on custom chains, and ask the desk whether your chain fits through the bail.
