About this item
- Real 14K yellow gold all the way through. 14 karat is 58.5% pure gold mixed with harder metals, the everyday standard for fine jewelry; nothing is plated, so nothing wears off. A certified appraisal comes in the box.
- Hollow build, 22 grams at 22 inches. The links are formed around an empty center: lighter on the neck and less costly than a solid chain of the same width. Treat it with care; a hollow chain can kink if it is yanked.
- 7.7 mm wide. Wear it on its own or with a pendant; text a jeweler a photo of the pendant and they will say straight whether this chain carries it.
- Two lengths: 18 and 22 inches. text a jeweler at 212-872-9692.
- Listed for men. Sold and shipped by TraxNYC, 64 W 47th St, New York, in business since 2004. Secondhand Dealer License 2123575-DCWP.

Description
Big open paperclip links, 7.7 mm wide, in hollow 14K yellow gold, 22 grams at the listed weight. The links are long ovals, so much of the look is open space, which is how a chain this wide stays light for its width. Hollow links dent under a hard knock, so take it off before heavy work. It comes in yellow gold at 18 or 22 inches. Orders in the US ship with a TraxNYC appraisal of the gram weight. For personal service, call a TraxNYC jeweler at 212-TRAXNYC (212-872-9692) during business hours.
Questions & answers
Q:
What metal is it, and is hollow gold real gold?
A:
Real 14K yellow gold, hollow links, 22 grams at 22 inches. 14 karat is 58.5% pure gold; nothing is plated, so nothing wears off. Hollow describes the shape of the links, formed around an empty center, not the metal: that is why it weighs less and costs less than a solid chain of the same width. The certified appraisal in the box states the metal and the weight.
Q:
Can I hang a pendant on a 7.7 mm hollow chain?
A:
A small, light pendant, yes. Skip heavy pieces on a hollow chain: a hard pull can kink a hollow link, and a kinked hollow link is harder to repair than a solid one. Text a jeweler a photo of the pendant and they will say straight which chain carries it. The pendant under "Pair it with a pendant" goes into the cart with this chain in one tap.
Q:
Which length should I get?
A:
18 sits at the collarbone, 20 and 22 sit mid-chest, and 24 in and longer drapes below the chest for layering. Text your height and build to 212-872-9692 and a jeweler will say which one. Men's gold chain buyer's guide.
Q:
How fast does it ship, and can I return it?
A:
Every order ships insured from 47th Street. This piece: usually ships in 3 to 5 business days. International shipping from $150. Returns: ask a jeweler about this piece before you buy; the full terms are in the refund policy. Shipping policy · Refund policy
