Designs: heart key, skyline key, diamond key and name key pendants

Start with a heart key if the key is a gift of love. Four pieces join a heart to a key, from a small diamond heart key to a heart lock flower set in diamonds. One adds a red synthetic ruby heart.

Three are plain diamond keys. The four skyline keys work a city into the key, New York, Boston and Tokyo among them. They are also sold as men's, so judge them by the millimeters. The last is a key made with her name.

Dainty or bold: key pendant size in grams and millimeters

Read the grams before the photo. Four keys weigh 2.4 grams or less. The diamond heart key is 30.5 mm tall, a little over an inch. In the middle, the ruby heart key stands 2 inches at 5.9 grams.

Past 12 grams a key turns bold. The skyline keys are three quarters of an inch wide, and the two that print a length stand 2.5 inches. The name key runs 3 inches. The heart lock and key is the heaviest at 40.8 grams. One small diamond key prints no size, so ask us before you order.

The chain: key necklace sets and the 18 to 24 inch lengths

Plan on a chain, because 11 of the 12 keys come alone. The one set is the small diamond heart key, with 18 to 24 inches in its menu, and its grams include the chain.

An 18 inch chain drops a small key just below the collarbone. A skyline key pulls hard on a fine chain, so give it a sturdier link. No key here prints its bail size, the ring the chain slides through. Send us her chain's width first, or choose from the women's gold chains.

Gold and diamonds: 14K or 10K gold key necklace in rose, white or yellow gold

Every key comes in yellow, rose or white gold. Eight are 14K. The four in 10K are three skyline keys and the name key. Take 14K for a key she never takes off.

Eleven keys carry diamonds, and each of those listings calls them natural. A small key holds about a third of a carat. A skyline key holds about two, graded VS2 or SI1 in G color.
