Measure the wrist, read the Pt and the stone, pick your gold, and ask the desk first
Measure your wrist first, then shop one style at a time. Tennis bracelets arrive most often, as runs of one design in several stone sizes, so read the Pt and the lab-grown or natural word wherever a title gives them. Take 14K for a bracelet you wear daily. For a length no listing offers, write to the live chat, or call or text 212-872-9692 from 10 AM ET.
Tennis runs: new diamond tennis bracelets by the Pt
Tennis bracelets come in most, usually as a run of one design in a ladder of stone sizes, listed over a few days. Where a title prints Pt, that is the weight of one stone in points, and a full carat is 100 points. A 10 Pt row carries stones of a tenth of a carat, about 3 mm across, and the row widens as the Pt climbs. Between runs come ovals, pears, hearts, bezel rows, three-row and upside-down settings, and colored rows in sapphire, emerald, ruby and opal. See them all on tennis bracelets.
Wrist length: what size bracelet to order, 7, 7.5 or 8 inches
Lay a strip of paper over the wrist bone, pull it snug, pen a line at the overlap and measure up to that line. Add roughly half an inch for a close bracelet and a full inch for a loose one. Most new bracelets come in 7, 7.5 or 8 inches, and many tennis listings let you choose. Most bead bracelets close on a sliding cord. The 21K bangles list a 2.5-inch diameter, so measure across one you own first. For a length no listing shows, ask before you order, since a bracelet cut or lengthened for you is final sale.
Gold and silver: 14K gold, 21K bangles and silver bracelets
Choose 14K for daily wear. Most new arrivals are 14K, hard enough to hold a clasp and prongs tight through daily knocks, and most of it lets you pick yellow, white or rose. The plain gold bangles come in 21K, a richer yellow and a softer metal. Gold bead bracelets string 14K beads between stones such as tiger eye, malachite, turquoise, garnet or pearl, so most weigh just a few grams. Some black diamond bead bracelets list steel, alone or with 14K gold, so ask which parts are gold. Silver arrives too, from rope and iced links to oxidized pieces with lab-grown diamonds. Compare the grams each listing prints.
Lab or natural: new lab-grown and natural diamond bracelets
Read the title first, since most new diamond bracelets name lab-grown or natural there. Several tennis designs come as twins, one listing lab-grown and one natural with the same stone size and width, so open the one you mean. Both are diamond through and through, and natural is the rarer of the two. Most white tennis rows give E-F color and VS clarity in their details. Black diamonds read AAA, a trade grade for an even jet black. When the title and the details leave the origin out, ask us before you pay.
Ask the desk: how to get a new bracelet before it is listed
Some new bracelets reach the store on 47th Street ahead of their listings. Send the live chat a screenshot, a style name or your wrist measure, or call or text 212-872-9692 from 10 AM ET. Where a listing says made to order, ask when yours would leave.
