Buyer's guide
How to buy men's diamond earrings
Kind, size, diamonds, karat, backs and weight for a man's earring, drawn from this page's live listings and a year of its sales
This page holds 298 men's earring listings: diamond studs first by money, flower and cluster pieces, crosses, cubes and pillows, and singles sold one at a time. About four in five are 14K, more than four in five carry diamonds, and most carry the Womens tag too.
What to settle before a pair leaves the case: which kind, what width, lab-grown or natural and what the pair's carat means, which karat and color, screw back or push back, what a pair weighs, and buying from the desk. Every count below is from the 298 listings live here on September 22, 2026 and what this page sold in the year to that day; prices are on the listings.

A title count takes one kind word per title over the 298 listings live on September 22, 2026, a design word like cross, flower or cluster before stud, stud before single and single before a motif like skull, so a single cross counts as a cross, a stud flower as a flower and a single stud as a stud, and each is an approximate count; the tag and collection figures beside it are the store's own lists under their own rules; the karat cell counts each kind's titles by title and metal line, 14K first and the rest after it, as in the last row; the weight is the median 14K gram figure for the pair, or for the single, as the listing sells it; the width is the median where that kind's listings state one; each Where to look figure is that collection's own live count on September 22, 2026; and the seven kind rows hold 286 of the 298, the twelve with no row being baguette 4, halo studs 4, clover 2, skull 1 and star 1. What each kind sold: this page's titles among the store's best-selling earring titles in the year to September 22, 2026, 168 titles and 2,435 pieces, which took 76 percent of the money those best-selling titles made; every share here is a share of this page's part of it. By kind: studs 45 percent on 770 pieces; flower 24 on 822, the most by the piece; earrings with no kind word 16 on 492; cluster 8 on 221; baguette 2; cube and pillow 2; clover 1; halo studs 1; cross 1. By karat: 14K 76 percent on 1,541 pieces; 18K 12 on 198; 10K 11 on 590, the second by the piece; silver 1 on 104. By origin: lab-grown 40 percent on 783 pieces; natural 14 on 335; no origin stated 46 on 1,317. By the pair's stated total carat: none stated 46 percent; 4 ctw and up 16; 2 to 3.99 ctw 15; 1 to 1.99 ctw 13; under 1 ctw 11.
Questions we get at the counter
Screw back or push back for men's earrings?
Screw back for a pair that stays in: it threads onto the post and holds through a shirt over the head or a session at the gym. Push back, the butterfly, for a pair you swap often: it slides on and is quicker to wear, and its grip eases with the years. No title on this page names the back, so read the listing; where it is silent, text the desk, and ask about a swap and its charge at the same time.
What size diamond stud should a man wear?
Five to 7 mm across for every day; 8 mm and up when the earring is meant to be seen. Width is what the eye reads, and on round stones it tracks the carat of the pair: about 5.2 mm a stone at 1 ctw, 6.5 mm at 2 ctw, 8.2 mm at 4 ctw. The studs here that state a width run a median 6 mm. There is no size filter; where the listing states no width, ask the desk.
Lab-grown or natural diamond studs?
Lab-grown for the larger stone at the same money, natural for the rarer stone; both are diamond, and lab pairs here state a median 2.00 ctw to natural's 0.70. The difference is where the crystal grew. In the year lab took nearly three times the money natural did on this page. The origin is on the listing itself; the Origin filter lists 19 earrings where 70 listings state one, and where a listing names neither, ask the desk.
Can I buy just one earring?
Yes: nineteen titles here say single, and this page ships one earring or the pair. A listing sold as a single is one earring, and its grams and its carat are for that one; a pair is two, and its figures cover both. Some men wear one and some wear two. The men's single earrings collection gathers the singles. For a design listed only as a pair, ask the desk whether it can be split and what one comes to; that is the desk's call.
14K or 18K gold earrings for men?
Real gold either way, and 14K for most. All but three of the 298 name the karat on the metal line or in the title, and no earring title or tag says plated, filled, vermeil or bonded. 14K, about four in five pairs here, holds a post well through years of backs on and off; 18K, about one in seven, carries more gold and a richer yellow, softer. 14K took about three in four of this page's money in the year; karat in full: the chains page.
How many carats is a pair of diamond studs?
A median 1.33 ctw for the pair over every listing here stating a total: ctw adds both earrings, so a 2 ctw pair is about one carat an ear. Fewer than one in four listings state a total; lab pairs run about 2.00, natural about 0.70. Among pairs stating a total, 2 ctw and up took more of the money in the year than pairs under 2, and lab-grown studs of 2 ctw and up were most of the stud money.
Can a man train, swim, shower or sleep in these, and how are they cleaned?
Gym, shower and sleep are fine in a screw back; the pool is off for any back, and cleaning is warm water, dish soap and a soft brush. A push back comes out for the gym, where a bar or a towel can catch it, and for bed, where sheets pull at it. Chlorine dulls the alloy, not the gold itself. Clean with a drop of dish soap, then a dry cloth, and check the grip and the thread now and then.
Are these earrings for men only?
No: more than three in four listings here carry the Womens tag as well, and the earring itself has no gender. This is the men's page, and most of what is on it sits on the women's pages too; the flower and cluster pieces in particular are worn by men and women alike. The kinds and widths above are read for a man. Pick by width and back, not by the tag.
