Karat gold: 481 of the 493 pieces here list 10K, 14K or 18K, and no title says plated, filled or vermeil. Five sterling silver pairs say silver in the title. Plating is a thin coat over another metal, and it wears through.
How can I tell if gold earrings are real?
Read the stamp with a loupe: 14K or 585, 18K or 750, 10K or 417. Then weigh the pair against the grams on its listing. A magnet should not pull it, and grey or red showing where it rubs means plated. How to tell.
Are gold earrings good for sensitive ears?
