Multicolour sapphire alternating with natural diamond down a one-inch cross — 1.24 carats of colour against a full carat of white. The mix is the design. A cross set entirely in colour reads busy, one set entirely in diamond reads like every other cross, and splitting it lets each side do something the other cannot.
Prong-set on 2.60 grams of 14K gold, which keeps the piece light enough for a thin chain while leaving enough metal under the stones to hold them square over time.
