Description

Miami Cuban links shaped into a ring of 14K gold and set with 1.02 carats of natural round diamonds. It brings the pattern of the Cuban chain onto the finger, and at 4.30 grams it sits on the hand with some weight to it.

The details. The ring is 14K gold. Miami Cuban links are thick links set tight against one another, the pattern of the chain the ring is named for. The diamonds are natural and round, H in color, which is near colorless, and SI in clarity, where the inclusions are small and usually need magnification to see. They are prong set, which holds each stone at its edge and lets light in from the sides.

Size and fit. Choose yellow or white gold, in sizes 7 to 12 with the half sizes between. White gold puts white metal around the diamonds; yellow gold keeps the look of a gold Cuban chain.

Care. A soft brush with warm water and mild soap cleans between the links and under the diamonds, where soap and lotion leave a film. Rinse and dry it, keep it away from chlorine and harsh cleaners, and store it apart from other rings so the diamonds do not scratch them.
