Clipping was a common practice in early commerce, where small amounts of silver were carefully shaved from coins while they remained in circulation. The result is a coin that is underweight by modern standards, but rich in history and character.
These coins are not bullion and are not full-weight. They are sold as historical collectibles rather than for melt value, which is why they are priced significantly below current silver spot prices.
