About this item
- Real 14K yellow gold all the way through. 14 karat is 58.3% pure gold mixed with harder metals, the everyday standard for fine jewelry; nothing is plated, so nothing wears off. A certified appraisal comes in the box.
- Solid build, 5.4 grams. Gold through every link: the heavier, longer-wearing build, and the right base for a pendant worn every day.
- 1.5 mm wide. Wear it on its own or with a pendant; text a jeweler a photo of the pendant and they will say straight whether this chain carries it.
- Listed for men and women. Sold and shipped by TraxNYC, 64 W 47th St, New York, in business since 2004. Secondhand Dealer License 2123575-DCWP.

Description
By the tape: 1.5mm, 20 inches. Run a thumb down 20 inches of these links and the wheat chain logic is obvious — dense, uniform, built to drape. Every 14k gold wheat chain 1.5mm 20 inch in the case gets measured against this one. In 14K the color reads unmistakably gold while the alloy keeps its nerve.
At this gauge the chain works as a rail — pendants ride it, stacks welcome it. It drapes flat, stays put, and never twists — the test every chain should pass and few do. It's the piece that makes browsing gold chains for men feel settled. Size up or down inside more gold chains. Come see it in person at our Diamond District showroom in New York. It is 1.5 mm wide, 20 inches long and 5.4 grams.
Questions & answers
Is this your best price?
The price on this page is the price of the piece. Have a number in mind? Tap Make an offer and send it; the desk answers with what it can do. Paying by bank wire takes 3% off.
Does it come thicker?
This chain is 1.5 mm wide. Where the store has the next width up, the solid version or the same chain in another karat, they show under Compare with similar items on this page. A width we do not list is a custom order: Ask in the chat on this page, or call or text 212-872-9692 (a person answers from 10 AM ET).
What does it weigh?
5.4 grams. The final weight may vary slightly. The store's appraisal states the gram weight.
Why does it cost more than the gold? What is my trade-in worth?
You are buying the finished piece, not the metal: the gold, the labor that made it and the store's appraisal; every package also travels insured. We do not price by the gram. Have a number? Tap Make an offer. Trading in or selling gold is done in person at the store or by phone with a jeweler, never with a number online.
Can I make payments? Do you still do layaway?
Layaway ended on January 1, 2026. To pay over time, choose Affirm at checkout: Affirm decides who qualifies and sets the terms. You can also pay with Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or a card, by bank wire (3% off), or in crypto: Ask in the chat on this page, or call or text 212-872-9692 (a person answers from 10 AM ET).
Can I hang a pendant on a 1.5 mm solid chain?
Yes. Send a jeweler a photo of the pendant and they will say straight whether this chain carries it: Ask in the chat on this page, or call or text 212-872-9692 (a person answers from 10 AM ET). The pendant under "Pair it with a pendant" goes into the cart with this chain in one tap.
What metal is it?
Real 14K yellow gold: 14 karat is 58.3% pure gold, alloyed with harder metals for strength. Nothing is plated, so nothing wears off. Build: solid, as the name says.
Does it come with an appraisal or a certificate?
Every gold order ships with the store's appraisal: carat and gram weights, diamond grade and color, market value and the corporate seal. International orders get a digital appraisal.
How fast does it ship, and can I return it?
Every order ships insured from 47th Street. Made or sourced to order: usually ships in 2 to 5 business days.
Returns: 14 calendar days from confirmed delivery, new and unworn, in the original packaging, on a label TraxNYC issues; an approved return carries a 5% restocking fee and $50 return shipping in the continental US ($100 international), and the original shipping is not refunded.
