Description

A 1.50 carat lab-grown marquise with 0.50 carats of round side diamonds, and every stone on the ring is graded F in color, so the center and the diamonds beside it are one even white. The center is VS1 in clarity, on a ring of 14K gold.

The details. The center diamond is a lab-grown marquise of 1.50 carats, the long, narrow shape pointed at both ends. F is the third grade from the top of the color scale, still in the colorless range, and VS1 means minor inclusions that a jeweler finds under magnification. The side diamonds are lab-grown rounds, 0.50 carats together, F color and VS clarity. Prongs hold every stone and leave each diamond open to the light. The ring weighs 2.23 grams.

Size and fit. Ring sizes run from 4 to 10, half sizes included, in yellow or white gold. White gold keeps the setting bright around the F stones; yellow gold puts a warm frame around them.

Care. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush keep the diamonds bright, and lab-grown diamonds take the same care as natural ones. Keep the ring away from chlorine and harsh cleaners, store it apart from other pieces so the stones do not scratch them, and take it off for heavy work, since the two points of the marquise are its thinnest edges.
