Two carats, lab-grown, cut as a marquise and graded E color and VS1 clarity: the center of this 14K gold ring sits one step from the top of the color scale, with 0.40 carats of round side diamonds in F color. The marquise is an oval drawn out to a point at each end.
The details. The center diamond is a lab-grown marquise of 2.0 carats. E color shows no tint to the eye, and VS1 means minor inclusions that take a loupe to find. The side diamonds are lab-grown rounds, 0.40 carats together, F color and VS clarity, one grade below the center in color. Prongs hold every stone. The ring is 14K gold and weighs 2.50 grams.
Size and fit. It is offered in yellow gold or white gold, sizes 4 to 9 with the half sizes. 14K is a hard-wearing gold for a ring that stays on every day.
Care. A soak in warm water with mild soap, then a soft brush behind the stone, lifts the film that dulls a diamond; lab-grown and natural diamonds take the same care.
