Description

This Mirabella is a 2.50 carat lab-grown pear in E color and VVS2 clarity, with 0.70 carats of round side diamonds, on 3.60 grams of 14K gold. A pear is round at one end and tapers to a single point at the other, a teardrop outline usually worn with the point toward the fingertip.

The details. The center is a lab-grown pear diamond of 2.50 carats. Its color is E, second on the scale after D, and its clarity is VVS2, which means inclusions so tiny that a trained grader needs magnification and time to find them. The side diamonds are lab-grown rounds, 0.70 carats in all, graded E in color like the center, with VS clarity. Every stone is prong set in 14K gold.

Size and fit. Sizes 4 through 9 with half sizes, in yellow or white gold. With E stones throughout, white gold keeps the ring white from end to end; yellow gold warms the frame around them.

Care. Brush under the stone with warm water and mild soap, since lotion dulls a diamond from below first; lab-grown diamonds take the same care as natural ones. Keep the ring away from chlorine and harsh cleaners, store it apart from other pieces, and guard the tip of the pear from knocks, since the point is the thinnest part of the stone.
