The details. 10K gold is 41.7 percent pure gold. The links are twisted together in a spiral, and each one is hollow, which is how the chain keeps its width at so little weight. Those 2.71 grams are the weight at one of the offered lengths; a longer chain weighs more and a shorter one less.
