How to buy men's diamond wedding bands

ABOUT THIS COLLECTION

His and Hers Wedding Bands: One Metal, Two Sizes

His and hers wedding bands, side by side, so you can match the pair before you buy. Most are 14K gold, with 18K, platinum and a few 10K. His side runs from plain gold bands, one with a Greek motif, to channel, prong, bezel and three-row diamond bands, most of them 6 to 10 grams. Hers are slimmer and lighter, most under 5 grams: eternity, half eternity, baguette and marquise-and-round bands set with natural or lab-grown diamonds.

Match the metal first. Buy both bands in the same karat and color, since 18K reads a deeper yellow than 14K, and most bands here come in yellow, white or rose gold. Then match the look: channel beside channel, eternity beside eternity, or a plain band beside a diamond one. You will need two ring sizes, and the ring size chart and the men's ring size guide show how to measure at home.
