Every chain on this page says Solid in its name: the links are solid gold all the way through, with no hollow core. About seven in ten are Miami Cuban links, from everyday widths to Cubans over 20 mm wide; the rest are curb, rope, Franco, anchor, cable, wheat, box and moon cut chains, some under 3 mm. More than half are 14K gold, then 10K and 18K, with a few in 21K and 22K. Most listings give the width, the length and the grams, and more than half of these chains weigh 150 grams or more.
A solid chain carries more gold for its size than a hollow one, so it weighs more, costs more and holds its shape. The gold is priced by grams, karat and the day's gold price, posted on the gold price page; how a gold chain is priced walks through it. Chains built with hollow links are on men's gold chains, marked Hollow in the name, beside every solid chain. The families have their own pages too: Miami Cuban chains, rope chains and Franco chains.
